The reality which we perceive is subjectively influenced by our belief systems and subconscious programming. Thus each person experiences a different type of reality. The mind is the molder of our every experience. Every sense impulse is analyzed, evaluated and then recorded in the mind as pleasant (supporting our needs), unpleasant (endangering to our needs) or neutral. If our conditioning and beliefs have learned to interpret a particular perception or event as positive or as satisfying, then the mind creates a pleasant inner environment. When, however, the events of life are interpreted by the programmed mind as threatening, fearful or unpleasant, it then creates a state of anxiety and tension. WHAT HAPPENED?

We were so suited for each other, so in love, so happy together. We had so many dreams. Our every moment together was so full of joy, happiness and excitement of being close to someone who loved us and understood us. We were so sure that we would live happily together forever. We never thought that we would arrive to this state of not communicating, misunderstanding, distance, indifference and even competition, aggressiveness and, in some cases, verbal violence. What happened? How did this happen? What can we do so as to be loving again as we were? The prime and basic cause of all fear is our ignorance of our true nature. If we experienced or were convinced of our invulnerable eternal soul-nature, we would never feel any fear whatsoever. Because we do not, or cannot, believe this truth, we feel vulnerable, separate, isolated and susceptible to extinction or insignificance.

As human beings in the process of evolution, it is imperative that we overcome the bondage of fear so we may experience the security, peace, love, courage, faith, wisdom, understanding and fulfillment which we desire, deserve and which is our destiny. Fear binds us to a lower level of consciousness with less love and happiness.
