A75 Creative Expression – Why creative expression in essential for our wellbeing

As mentioned in the chapter of the philosophy and self-therapy, our health is a function of our connection with the Universal Source of all life energy. This may seem difficult for some to understand. This energy is much subtler than our senses are able to perceive. Scientific instruments can in our days record this energy by means of Kirlian photography, showing the aura of light energy which is otherwise invisible, except when a being is photographed in an electromagnetic field. A27 Healing The Inner Child: Techniques and concepts for healing our subconscious or Inner Child

A27 Healing The Inner Child: Techniques and concepts for healing our subconscious or Inner Child

We will not go into a detailed philosophical and psychological analysis concerning the inner child, but will simply remind you that our emotional life is largely dictated by the feelings, beliefs and needs generated by our childhood experiences. Our inner child is that part of our subconscious which still feels, thinks and behaves in the ways we learned as children. We have become split personalities who function with two minds. One is logical and the other still sees things as we did as children. It is likely that our inner child still feels vulnerable, lonely, fearful, angry or hurt, while we are consciously not aware of these emotions. Yet, even if we are not aware of these emotions, they are very visible in our lives, through our reactions, lack of sensitivity, lack of caring love and interest in others. They are also very evident in our tensions and psychosomatic illnesses. Regardless of which other techniques we employ in relationship to the inner child, it is essential that we communicate with it daily. We remind you of the technique (fig. 47) also described in the previous chapter. Continue reading “A27 Healing The Inner Child: Techniques and concepts for healing our subconscious or Inner Child”

A44 Our Five Bodies: We actually have subtle bodies of which we are not generally aware, but which control our lives to a great degree

A44 Our Five Bodies: We actually have subtle bodies of which we are not generally aware, but which control our lives to a great degree

THE DIVINE BEING

In chapter two we discussed various models which help us comprehend to some extent the enigma of our separate identity and simultaneously our spiritual unity. We now understand that there is one Universal Spirit which is expressing itself as all of the material universe and all the beings in it. Remember also that this Universal Consciousness may be called by you and others by various names such as: Universal Energy, the Absolute, the Divine, God, the Divine Ground, the Father, the Logos, Divine mother, the Christ, Supreme Being, Brahman, Allah, the Void etc. It makes no difference how you are used to calling it. The following discussion concerns that Highest Reality. This Universal Consciousness is said to have three qualities. Firstly it is eternal existence. There never was a time when it did not exist. Never will there be a time when it will not exist. In fact time itself is its creation. It existed before the creation of the universe and time and space. Thus, even if all the universe collapses and disappears, this eternally existent consciousness will still exist. A60 Twelve Steps to Co-Commitment: Suggestions about how to develop a conscious love relationship

A60 Twelve Steps to Co-Commitment: Suggestions about how to develop a conscious love relationship

Much of this section is inspired by the work of Gay and Katherine Hendricks

We can move towards a conscious love relationship by committing our selves to consciously working towards that. We need to clearly understand what we want out of our relationship and be willing to commit ourselves to that goal. It means choosing to work on ourselves rather than falling back into unconscious behavior patterns. These twelve commitments free us to love our partner consciously without games and fears. A28 Helping The Dying: We can be of much comfort to those who are close to death and can learn with them the essence of life while supporting them in their process of adapting to their upcoming transition

A28 Helping The Dying: We can be of much comfort to those who are close to death and can learn with them the essence of life while supporting them in their process of adapting to their upcoming transition

Since it is inevitable that we are all going to leave these physical bodies, we might as well depart with dignity and peace of mind rather than in conflict, fear and turmoil. Many great beings of history have faced death with great dignity, courage and peace of mind. The moment of departure from the physical body also offers us a great opportunity for spiritual growth. It is a moment in which we have the greatest possibility of realizing our true spiritual nature. In the previous chapter we have discussed how we can begin to live and think in such a way, as to face death more consciously, peacefully and spiritually, without fear or conflict. In this chapter we will discuss some of the ways in which we can help others to make the same preparation, especially if they are close to death. It is obvious, however, that we will not be able to help others to make changes and transformations which we have not made ourselves. Working on ourselves will be a prerequisite to helping others. A45 Our Relationship with God: This is a relationships which can be cultivated just as any other

Each person desires to feel safe, secure, loved and accepted, but few do. The basic reason is that few have an awareness of their real relationship with God and Life itself. We continue our analysis of our beliefs and their effect on our lives and our emotional and mental states. Men and women have long sought to understand the mysteries of the universe and answer questions very basic to their existence on the earth, such as: Continue reading “A45 Our Relationship with God: This is a relationships which can be cultivated just as any other”

A30 How To Meditate: Practical Guidelines concerning how to meditate

A30 How To Meditate: Practical Guidelines concerning how to meditate

There are as many ways to meditate as there are ways to dance. The result of each dance is the same – you come closer to and communicate with your partner – in the case of meditation – the soul. But each dance flows differently. Each meditation spontaneously expresses the inner music of the moment, which is never the same. There are, however, some basic steps which can take you to that union more efficiently. Continue reading “A30 How To Meditate: Practical Guidelines concerning how to meditate”
